Training For Schwartz Round Facilitators And Clinical Leads

This is an online training programme for organisations who are established in running Schwartz Rounds. This was developed in response to demand for an easier and faster way to access training. The facilitators are trained to deliver the Schwartz Rounds according to a specific model which is structured and evidenced-based. Their main task is to ensure that the Round discussion stays reflective and does not stray into problem solving.

The Point of Care Foundation provide two days of training in order for healthcare staff to facilitate Schwartz Rounds in organisations across the UK. Schwartz Rounds provide a structured forum where all staff, clinical and non-clinical, come together regularly to discuss the emotional and social aspects of working in healthcare. The purpose of Rounds is to understand the challenges and rewards that are intrinsic to providing care, not to solve problems or to focus on the clinical aspects of patient care. Evidence shows that staff who attend Rounds feel less stressed and isolated, with increased insight and appreciation for each other&#39,s roles. They also help to reduce hierarchies between staff and to focus attention on relational aspects of care.
