Managing Moisture in the Pavement Structure

This CPD is aimed at professionals involved in design and specification of modular pavements. In August 21 the British Standards Institute published an extensively re-written version of the BS7533 which had been in its old 12 part form for some twenty years, during which time it had acquired a reputation for being difficult to use in practice. With its detailed knowledge of the previous and new versions, Steintec has prepared this presentation as an informative overview of the main changes and improvements and what they mean for the designer.

The course covers the essential design considerations of modular pavement construction and the relationship between aesthetics and engineering requirements so it's relevant to both architects and engineers alike. The CPD provides an overview of the SuDS concept, the continuing need for its adoption in future development and construction. The concept of the permeable pavement, a component of SuDS is then examined in detail within the context of SuDS. The examination extends to the maintenance and longevity of permeable pavements.
