The objective of this course is to provide sufficient understanding, to a recognised standard in accordance with the British Abrasive Foundation (BAF) of the use of abrasive wheels including, the management of health & safety at work regs 1999, PUWER regs 1998, HSG17, the control of vibration at work regs 2005. Hazards around the use of abrasive wheels, methods of markings on abrasive wheels and legislative requirements. How to identify & minimise hazards, types of equipment & inspection. Noise, respiratory, H.A.V.S. & W.B.V. & PPE requirements, Accident causation & prevention, pre use machine safety, mounting of abrasive wheels on bench grinders, angle grinders, chop saws and disc cutters.

The objective of this course is to provide sufficient understanding and knowledge of Asbestos Awareness inclusive of, the general uses of asbestos, control of asbestos regulations, duty of care, diseases, risk assessment, control measures and the safe removal of asbestos in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 & supporting ACoP & Guidance L143 Managing and Controlling Asbestos.

The objective of this course is to provide sufficient understanding and knowledge of Lone Working, in accordance with ACoP & Guidance INDG73 (rev 4) HSAWA 1974, MHSWR 1992.

The objective of this course is to provide sufficient understanding and knowledge of Manual Handling appropriate to the ‘Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992’ legislation inclusive of, the risks involved (including necessary components of a Risk Assessment), best practice, and control measures available. The course is suitable for entry level right up to those with experience of manual handling within the workplace, whether that be office based or in practical applications in a wide range of industries.

The aim of this course is to provide sufficient understanding, to a nationally recognised standard, in accordance with the Working at Height regs (WAHR2005) of the regulations relating to working at height including, management of health & safety at work regs 1999, work at height regs 2005, PUWER regs 98, safe use and selection of ladders INDG455, inspection & safe use of harnesses including selection of appropriate lanyards INDG367.
