About the event

A trauma-informed approach in policing and the criminal justice system equips officers and criminal justice professionals with the tools to understand the effect of trauma and to develop trauma-informed responses. This course provides delegates with an understanding of the relationship between adverse experiences and the impact trauma can have on behaviour; exploring how this can influence a person’s interaction with authority. You’ll learn how to identify and respond to signs of trauma. Gain insight into how a trauma-informed approach can be successfully applied in practice to improve engagement with witnesses and survivors and reduce re-traumatisation. Develop and implement trauma-informed policies.
