FBRH Consultants - CPD Member Case Study

We have been asking our members from across the industries the reasons why they became a CPD provider. This CPD Member case study was provided by FBRH Consultants. For more information, please visit their CPD Member Directory page.

Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?

FBRH Consultants Ltd is a UK-based sustainability consultancy and professional training provider specialising in sustainability reporting, strategic sustainability planning, double materiality, and external assurance services.

We deliver professional training programmes based on internationally recognised frameworks and standards, including the GRI Standards, ESRS, and related sustainability reporting frameworks. We are also a GRI Certified Training Partner and deliver both public and in-house professional training internationally.

In addition to training, FBRH supports organisations with sustainability reporting, assurance preparation, strategic sustainability planning, stakeholder engagement, and value-chain-based double materiality assessments.

We also collaborate with universities, institutions, and organisations to deliver executive education and professional development programmes focused on sustainability leadership and reporting.

Why did you become a CPD provider?

FBRH became a CPD provider because professional education and practical implementation are central to our mission.

Sustainability reporting and strategic sustainability management are evolving rapidly. Organisations increasingly require practical, high-quality training that goes beyond theory and equips professionals with implementation-ready knowledge, structured methodologies, and practical tools.

CPD accreditation provided an important mechanism to:
•    strengthen the professional credibility of our programmes
•    support continuing professional development for participants
•    align our training with recognised professional learning standards
•    provide participants with independently recognised evidence of learning and competency development

The decision was also influenced by growing demand from leading organisations and institutional partners for formally recognised professional learning pathways.

For example, FBRH delivered sustainability reporting and GRI Standards training to professional services firms, where the provision of CPD-recognised learning formed part of the broader professional development expectations. CPD accreditation has also aligned strongly with our university business school collaborations, where we jointly deliver executive education programmes focused on sustainability leadership and GRI certification.

In both cases, CPD accreditation helped ensure that participants received recognised, structured, and professionally valuable learning outcomes that could support their ongoing career development and organisational responsibilities.

Most importantly, becoming a CPD provider reinforced our commitment to delivering learning experiences that are practical, professionally relevant, implementation-focused, and aligned with the evolving needs of sustainability professionals and organisations.

How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?

FBRH implemented CPD accreditation by embedding Continuing Professional Development principles directly into the design, structure, delivery, and continuous improvement of our training programmes.

Our implementation process focused on several key areas:
•    establishing clear learning objectives and measurable learning outcomes for all programmes
•    aligning course structures with recognised professional development principles
•    developing practical, implementation-focused training methodologies
•    integrating structured participant feedback and continuous improvement mechanisms
•    maintaining robust quality management and course review procedures

A significant part of this process involved formalising our “Plan-of-Action” methodology, which helps participants move from understanding sustainability reporting requirements to confidently implementing them within their organisations.

We also ensured that our programmes:

•    combine technical knowledge with practical application
•    include real-world case studies, exercises, and implementation tools
•    support professionals at different stages of their sustainability journey
•    provide practical outputs that participants can directly use within their organisations

CPD accreditation was integrated alongside our wider quality-focused approach to training and professional services, including structured review procedures and continuous programme enhancement based on participant feedback, market developments, and evolving sustainability reporting requirements.

The accreditation process also complemented our collaborations with organisations, universities, and professional audiences that require structured, professionally recognised learning programmes with clear educational value and practical relevance.

How has using CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?

CPD accreditation has significantly strengthened FBRH’s ability to deliver structured, high-quality, professionally relevant learning experiences.

It has helped us reinforce our core objective of transforming sustainability reporting from a disclosure-focused exercise into a practical decision-making framework that organisations can use to create long-term value.

CPD accreditation has supported our learning objectives by:
•    increasing the professional credibility and recognition of our programmes
•    helping participants demonstrate ongoing professional development
•    strengthening learner engagement and commitment
•    supporting organisations seeking structured, high-quality sustainability training for their teams
•    reinforcing the practical and outcome-focused nature of our programmes

Importantly, it has also helped position our programmes as part of broader professional capability development rather than isolated training events.

Participants increasingly seek learning experiences that:
•    provide practical implementation knowledge
•    improve decision-making capabilities
•    strengthen strategic thinking
•    support career progression
•    provide recognised professional development value

CPD accreditation has helped validate and communicate these outcomes clearly.

It has also strengthened collaborations with institutional and corporate partners by providing an additional layer of professional recognition and quality assurance that aligns well with executive education and professional services environments.

Overall, CPD accreditation has helped FBRH further align its learning programmes with the evolving expectations of sustainability professionals, organisations, and institutional partners seeking practical, credible, and professionally recognised sustainability education.
