NSM Training & Consultancy - CPD Member Case Study

We have been asking our members from across the industries the reasons why they became a CPD provider. This CPD Member case study was provided by NSM Training & Consultancy. For more information, please visit their CPD Member Directory page.

Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?

NSM Training and Consultancy offers CPD courses and in-house training sessions for education staff across the UK and beyond.

Why did you become a CPD provider?

We became a CPD provider because we believe education staff deserve more than just information, they deserve training that equips them to succeed in the most challenging parts of their roles. Too often, CPD is treated as a "tick-box exercise," leaving teachers and school staff feeling that their time hasn't been valued. We wanted to change that.

At NSM Training & Consultancy, we design and deliver practical CPD that staff can immediately apply in their classrooms and schools. Our focus is always on relevance, realism, and real-world solutions, not theory for theory's sake. For us, becoming a CPD provider isn't just about offering training; it's about improving professional development so education staff feel supported, confident, and skilled in their work.

How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?

We implemented CPD accreditation by embedding quality, rigour, and accountability into every stage of our training design and delivery. From the outset, we knew that to make meaningful impact, our courses needed to go beyond good intentions they had to meet recognised professional standards and provide measurable value for education staff.

To achieve this, we carefully mapped our programmes against CPD certification criteria, ensuring that each course had clear learning outcomes, structured content, and demonstrable impact. We put robust quality assurance processes in place, including regular course reviews, participant feedback, and continuous updates to reflect the latest research and best practice in education.

We also partnered with external accreditation bodies to validate our CPD independently, giving schools and delegates confidence in the credibility of our training. Alongside this, we invested in training and supporting our facilitators so that they deliver CPD that is consistent, evidence-informed, and practical. By implementing CPD accreditation in this way, we ensure that every course we deliver is not only engaging, but also formally recognised as contributing to the professional development of education staff across the UK and beyond.

How has CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?

CPD has been central to helping us achieve our learning objectives because it ensures that our training is structured and measurable. By delivering accredited CPD, we are able to provide education staff with professional development that not only builds knowledge but also develops confidence and practical skills that can be applied immediately in schools.

This alignment between CPD and our organisational goals means that we can consistently meet our mission of equipping staff to handle educational requirements more effectively. Accredited CPD also allows us to set clear learning outcomes and measure the extent to which these have been met. Through structured evaluation and ongoing feedback, we can track improvements in staff confidence, classroom practice, and pupil outcomes, which demonstrates that our programmes are achieving real change.

In addition, CPD accreditation strengthens the credibility of our training, which has enabled us to reach more schools, build long-term partnerships, and ensure our work continues to have sustained impact.
