We have been asking our members from across the industries the reasons why they became a CPD provider. This CPD Member case study was provided by Derma Space Clinic. For more information, please visit their CPD Member Directory page.
Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?
We are a pharmacy-led aesthetics clinic specialising in advanced skin, hair and weight management treatments. Alongside our clinical services, we provide professional aesthetics training courses, including anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers and injectable skin treatments. We also offer specialist training in injectable weight management treatments, with a strong focus on safe, responsible and clinically appropriate practice.
Why did you become a CPD provider?
We became a CPD provider to ensure that the training we deliver is structured, high quality and focused on professional development. As a pharmacy-led aesthetics clinic, patient safety, clinical standards and evidence-based practice are central to what we do.
We provide training in areas including anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, skin injectables and weight management treatments. We wanted our courses to offer more than practical training; our aim is to give healthcare and aesthetic professionals the knowledge, confidence and competencies required to practise safely and responsibly.
Becoming a CPD provider also allows us to demonstrate our commitment to high-quality education and supporting practitioners with their ongoing professional development.
How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?
We implemented CPD accreditation by reviewing and developing our training programmes to ensure that each course has clear learning objectives, structured educational content and appropriate methods of assessing learning.
Our courses combine theoretical knowledge with practical learning where appropriate. Training materials, presentations, course manuals and assessments are developed to support the stated learning outcomes and provide learners with a clear educational pathway.
As a pharmacy-led organisation, we place particular emphasis on patient safety, appropriate patient assessment, professional responsibilities, treatment protocols, contraindications, complication awareness and aftercare.
We also introduced processes for obtaining learner feedback and reviewing course content regularly. This allows us to identify areas for improvement and keep our training relevant and aligned with current professional practice and guidance.
How has using CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?
CPD accreditation has helped us develop a more structured and consistent approach to education. It ensures that each course has defined learning objectives and that the content, practical training and assessments are designed around achieving those objectives.
It has also helped us focus on measurable learning outcomes rather than simply course attendance. Our aim is for learners to leave our courses with improved knowledge, greater confidence and a better understanding of safe and responsible practice.
CPD has also encouraged us to continuously review and improve our training through learner feedback, changes in professional guidance and developments within the aesthetics and healthcare sectors. This supports our overall objective of providing high-quality education that contributes positively to professional development and patient care.
